Programme Focus.

Our current work is focused on trade and development issues through the QUNO-Geneva office. We follow the debates and negotiations taking place in various institutions including the International Labour Organisation (ILO), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

The two principle areas of work for QUNO-Geneva are currently:

How we work

The primary goal for QUNO-Geneva's work on trade and development is to promote a fair and equitable negotiating process. We provide three resources under this goal:

  • Consultative Group: QUNO-Geneva endeavours to identify experts who can offer legal and technical advice to negotiators.
  • Dialogues: QUNO-Geneva hosts informal and off-the-record dialogues for negotiators and other stakeholders.
  • Publications: QUNO-Geneva commissions studies and expert analysis on issues of central importance to the negotiating process.

QUNO Geneva personnel attended the 6th WTO Ministerial in Hong Kong, providing a consultative expert group and faciliating dialogue within the negotiating process. Click here for our past dispatches.
