Internet
Privacy Policy
The Quaker United Nations Office (QUNO) website is administered with the help
of the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). AFSC and QUNO value
your support and are committed to protecting your online privacy. You
can visit our web site without revealing any personal information.
Collection of general information
Our web servers do automatically collect some non-identifying
basic information from your visit to help measure web site activity
and improve our site. This information includes your IP address,
browser type, computer type, the pages requested, and referring
web site.
Like many other websites, the QUNO web site also deposits certain
bits of information called “cookies” in a visitor’s
computer. Cookies help us distinguish repeat visitors from first-time
visitors and give us helpful information about how our pages
are viewed. This technology does not collect personal, identifiable
information.
Volunteering personal data
You may voluntarily submit your email address or other personally
identifying data to take part in an activity on the site, such
as to sign up for a mailing list. In this case, we will use your
data to send you the requested information. We may also send
you occasional messages about other QUNO programs and information
sources. You can unsubscribe from an QUNO mailing list at any
time by responding to the instructions provided at the bottom
of each message. We do not share our email lists with other organisations.
Email This Page/Tell-A-Friend
From many of our web pages, you can email a message to your
friends recommending that they visit a page. When you use our “email
this page” feature, we ask for your name, email address,
and up to five friends’ email addresses at a time. We do
not collect this personal information; it is used only to let
your friends know who sent the email message. We do check our
web logs to see which pages are forwarded most often, but we
do not capture any personally identifying information about you
or your friends from this feature.
Donation information
If you choose to make a donation to QUNO Geneva, you will be asked
to submit financial and contact information to allow us to collect
the donation and provide you with a receipt. QUNO makes every
effort to insure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive
visitor information using industry-accepted data collection and
encryption methodologies.
To keep our donors informed about the work of QUNO, we send
out periodical mailings with program details and other information.
Once a year we offer an opportunity to be removed from our mailing
list.
Updates to our policy
We may occasionally update this policy. If so, we will post
revisions here.
